Fire Department

The Prevention Division of the department has the sole responsibility to ensure the compliance with fire and life safety codes and is the most important non-emergency response division of the department. The Prevention Division is headed by a Division Chief and one part-time inspector.

Duties of the Prevention Division are, plan reviews for new construction, site plan reviews for new subdivisions, fire pre-incident / action plans, yearly building inspections, code enforcement, public fire and life safety training and programs, and staffing the city’s emergency operation center.
