The Prevention Division of the department has the sole responsibility to ensure the compliance with fire and life safety codes and is the most important non-emergency response division of the department. The Prevention Division is headed by a Division Chief and one part-time inspector.
Duties of the Prevention Division: - Review plans for new construction.
- Review site plans for new subdivisions.
- Review fire pre-incident/action plans.
- Perform yearly building inspections.
- Enforce fire codes.
- Offer programs and training for public fire safety and life safety.
